The purpose of a Business Strategy Workshop is primarily to ensure that the business goals are aligned with your personal goals, and to gain clarity on the key goals for both. In order to ensure we can help each business individually during this full-day workshop, we limit this event to 6 businesses.
The topics covered during the Business Strategy Workshop include:
- 3-5 year vision
- 12-18 month personal goals
- 12-18 month business goals
- Business opportunities and challenges
- Personal Development
- 12-18 month goal schedule
A major focus of the strategy workshop is gathering together all the potential goals into a plan with timescales. At the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a clear schedule for the next 12-18 months, broken into quarters and months so that you know exactly what needs to be done and have the confidence that you can achieve it.
Would you like to know more detail?
Most people don’t really plan their business at all. Those who do, often get bogged down in detail. Perhaps you’ve googled “Business Plan Template”, downloaded a few, sat there for hours going through it and feeling baffled. Perhaps you even completed one of those plans, only to find that you never actually followed the plan or even looked at it. Sadly these experiences lead a lot of people to decide that “Business planning doesn’t work”. It’s an understandable conclusion, but really it’s more about the method that doesn’t work well.
We help you to create business plans that are simple and that you really will use and get great results! We’ve had literally hundreds of people complete these planning days, with many returning year after year to re-plan. It works AND you’ll actually enjoy it!
There’s no preparation necessary for the day, you can just show-up and achieve everything necessary on the day. However, most people like to do some thinking and make a few notes to prepare, in which case we offer a few suggestions that only take an hour or two – thinking about your personal goals, business goals – what would make you really proud of your business over the coming years? It’s as simple as that.
5-Year plan
You might think a 5-year plan would be complicated and a lot of work? We keep this simple too. A single sheet of paper that breaks your business down into four main areas and maps the progression from now to five years, showing each aspect growing from year to year. In case you’re curious, the template we use is a version of what’s known as a Vision Orbit diagram (google it if curios, but know that we use a different version that’s better suited to planning).
12-18 month goals
The main takeaway from the day in terms of what you’ll use going forward is a simple ‘banner’ containing all your key goals, laid out on an 18-month schedule. Most people put this on their wall where it acts as a constant guide and reminder to keep them on-track. For people who work with a coach or an accountability partner, this forms a specific way to know what needs to be done to stay on track.
Why 18 months instead of 12? If you plan just 12 months, there’s a risk that you end up looking short-term by the end of the year. The concept is to plan 18 months and re-plan every 12 months; This way, you’re always ready for what’s on the horizon and looking ahead.
We guarantee results
As with everything we do, we guarantee results. At the end of the session, the coach presenting it will ask you “Has today and the plans you’ve created been worth every penny of your investment? If not, pay only what you feel it was worth – and if you don’t feel it provided any value at all, then pay us nothing!”. You may or may not be surprised to know that across ten years and hundreds of delegates, no one has ever requested a reduction in the investment, let alone a full refund. We’re open to it happening one day, but by guaranteeing it we’re very conscious of our role – our job is to deliver even more value than we charge, and that’s what we do.
